Social Distancing and Safe Packing Process
A social distancing packing process has been established to ensure staff ample time to pack their desks, archive items, along with edit papers that are no longer needed.
There will be shifts available, for staff to access their desks and pack. Three hour windows will be available, with a one hour break between shifts to allow for Custodial to come through and sanitize high touch areas (such as doors and door handles). Extra gloves and sanitizing stations will be provided for staff.
Staff will be only be permitted to enter the building with fabric face coverings, gloves, and hand sanitizer. Extra gloves and sanitizer stations will be available in the event someone needs to step out and/or use the restroom. Packing boxes will be provided at your desk, along with multiple locations within your office space for ease of accessing extras, if needed. One box, per occupant, will be provided for those who need to take items home with them as well, as movers will not move personal items (plants, artwork, mini fridges, etc.). There will be recycling bins at each aisle way and at multiple locations within the office too.
Packing will be an entirely siloed activity and your designated time for packing will be determined by the location of your desk within the office space, to ensure social distancing is maintained. There is to be no gathering and/or socializing during this time.
Packing will occur on weekdays, during the hours of 9:00am to 4:00pm; however, an evening shift will be available for anyone who requires an accommodation and/or child care flexibility. Please notify your supervisor, if you require such flexibility.
Departments with storage rooms, that need to be packed, will also be accounted for in the schedule. Additionally, there will be one week allocated for make-up days, in the event that someone cannot make their scheduled date and time.
If you identify as high risk and/or do not feel comfortable packing your space, please work directly with your supervisor.
Please note, you will not be permitted into the building if anyone is accompanying you during this move packing process.
Move packing will begin July 29th, with detailed packing schedules to follow.
