MEDICAL EDUCATION BUILDING

Get to Know the Medical Education Building

A new space for learning, research, collaboration—and maybe your next coffee break.

The Medical Education Building (MEB) is designed to bring together students, faculty, researchers, and staff from across campus. From flexible learning spaces and state-of-the-art research facilities to a welcoming café and outdoor courtyard, there’s a lot to discover.

Start Your Day at Daily Dose Café

The main entry lobby is home to Daily Dose Café, a convenient stop for a coffee break, a quick bite, or a drink between classes.

Grab a proudly poured Peet’s Coffee, enjoy a boba drink, or pick up something from the grab-and-go food selection. Whether you’re heading to class, a meeting, or the lab, Daily Dose is right at the heart of the building.

Take a Break in the Courtyard

Just off the main lobby, the courtyard offers a comfortable outdoor spot to recharge between classes, meetings, or research sessions.

With both fixed and movable seating, plus shade and wind protection, you can settle in for a quick break, meet with colleagues, or enjoy your Daily Dose beverage outdoors. The flexible space can also transform into an event venue—specifically for the Department of Medical Education’s White Coat Ceremony.

Spaces Designed for Learning

The ground floor features general assignment instructional spaces along with four dedicated class laboratories, two supporting the School of Natural Sciences and two supporting the School of Engineering.

With a variety of flexible learning environments, the building is designed to support collaboration, hands-on learning, and the changing needs of our campus community.

Research Throughout the Building

The MEB’s ground floor is also home to a Core Research Facility and Social Science Interview Suite, supporting the building’s strong emphasis on community-based research.

Six wet labs, social science research labs, computational labs, education spaces, and offices are located throughout the building, creating a dynamic environment where research, education, and collaboration intersect.

Your New Academic Home

The Medical Education Building will bring together the Department of Medical Education, Psychological Sciences, Public Health, and HSRI, creating opportunities for interdisciplinary connections and collaboration under one roof.
